Who am I? I am a dedicated, goal-oriented nonprofit professional with 15+ years experience in fundraising, social media strategy (5 years), volunteer management, and organizational leadership. I am known for building strong relationships throughout the community and for leading memorable special events. I have an earned Bachelor’s degree (with honors) in public administration and business, Master of Divinity degree (94 hours) and significant hours toward a Juris Doctor, MBA, and Doctor of Ministry.

My three core competencies:

» Fundraising. At Kennesaw State, created the fundraising program for the College of Continuing and Professional Education. At the Boy Scouts of America, directed annual fundraising campaign with 400+ contributors and $400K in annual revenues; consistently exceeded all fundraising quotas in a weak economy. At Yemassee Baptist, led the church in completely renovating sanctuary building; completed the project ($300K estimated value) debt-free in six months. Proven fundraising skills highlighted by the cultivation of a relationship to where a man donated his multi-million dollar home to the Atlanta Boy Scouts.

» Organizational Leadership. Served five years as a senior pastor in two churches; Wellford Baptist had 600 members, a budget of $530K, five employees, and 100+ volunteers. At Luther Rice, played an integral role in the creation of a retention and career management position in a university with 1300+ students. At BSA, led a team that won the National Quality District Award in 2009 and 2010 (the first time ever for this District). Actively assisted the council in meeting the $9M annual budget by supporting two golf tournaments, a shooting clays tournament, and three major banquets.

» Volunteer management. Fifteen years’ experience in recruiting and motivating quality volunteers and directing them to exceed their goals and expectations. At BSA, directed large scale, well-planned events for 900+ youth and adults. Coordinated 2011 Merit Badge Day – with 550 youth participants, 40 classes, and 200 adult leaders.

I’m an expert communicator with strong experience speaking to large and small groups. As a Boy Scout Executive, I actively promoted Scouting throughout the Atlanta community and have been the keynote speaker to six different Rotary Clubs in Atlanta. As a pastor, I preached to 300+ every week. I have taught university courses for over 2 years.

I have very solid time management skills from the very busy load I have as a Development Director, Boy Scout executive, senior pastor (membership of 600; 5 employees; $530,000 budget) and college instructor.
