Working through your grief . . .

Working through your grief . . .

When I was going through my divorce, my counselor had me ask some daily questions of myself.  He then had me journal my answers.  It was VERY encouraging and renewing.  This became my prayer to God as I expressed my hurts, fears, pains, anger, betrayal, etc.  I would go over and over these answers and see myself go through the cycle of grief.  I was told to FEEL the hurt, and FEEL the pain.  Otherwise I would never get through them onto the other side.  If I swept suppressed these feelings, they would later explode in other ways in my life.  I would encourage you to ask these questions, journal them, and pray them to God.  These were the questions:

When I feel this way the thoughts that go through my head are . . .

When I feel this way and think these thoughts, what I want to do is . . .

My choice today is . . .

My prayer today is . . .
